Leadership Essentials, Continuing the Excellence, what does it all mean?

Do the terms Journeys, Pathways, New Girl Scout Leadership Experience, and Transforming Leadership have your head spinning?  Let us help you sort everything out and get ready for the new Girl Scout year.

Training has changed a lot for the upcoming year.  Basic Orientation and Age Level have all been rolled into one class!  This course is called “Leadership Essentials”.  As the name suggests, the focus of this training is what a volunteer needs to effectively facilitate the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.  Leaders will learn how to partner with their girls to help them Discover, Connect, and Take Action.

The second training that will be offered is “Continuing the Excellence”. It is geared toward the “seasoned” leader who wants to tie the current program in with the new.  Can’t make it to this course?  “Seasoned” leaders are encouraged to take “Leadership Essentials”.

Both courses will have a fee of $5 each.  We will no longer issue vouchers after taking the course.

As in the past, you must register for the courses.  Pre-registration is at least one week in advance of the course.  This allows adequate time for the instructor to prepare materials.

Back by popular demand!  The “Get ‘R Done” weekend is scheduled for October 17 – 19, 2008.  Plans are being finalized for enrichment courses.  Overnight accommodations will be available once again!
